Salary: £99 – £125 per day (Depending on Experience)
Start Date: September 2025
Contract Type: Day-to-Day / Long-Term; Full-Time / Part-Time
Are you a qualified Higher Level Teaching Assistant ready to take on a rewarding role in a vibrant school setting?
GSL Education are seeking experienced and enthusiastic HLTA Level 4 practitioners to work across schools in Hull from September 2025. This is a fantastic opportunity to take on a more advanced support role and contribute meaningfully to pupils’ progress and well-being.
As a Higher Level Teaching Assistant, you will support teaching staff by delivering lessons, covering planned absences, and working with individuals or groups of pupils. Your expertise will help support learning outcomes while promoting independence, inclusion, and academic development.
What you have to do as an HLTA:
* Deliver pre-planned lessons in the absence of the class teacher
* Support pupils across Key Stages in small groups or one-to-one
* Assist in planning and assessing pupil progress under teacher direction
* Promote a positive learning environment and encourage pupil engagement
* Provide targeted support for pupils with additional needs
* Work collaboratively with teachers, SENCOs, and wider school staff
* Support the development of classroom displays and learning materials
* Uphold the school’s safeguarding and behaviour policies at all times
Higher Level Teaching Assistant Requirements:
* Hold a recognised HLTA status or Level 4 Teaching Assistant qualification or equivalent
* Proven experience working within a UK school setting as an HLTA
* Strong understanding of the national curriculum and effective support strategies
* Excellent communication and classroom management skills
* A calm, patient, and flexible approach to working with pupils
* Have an updated CV and an Enhanced DBS registered on the Update Service or willingness to apply through GSL Education
