Join one of the UKs leading dairy suppliers – an independent, family run business. Based at their processing site in Haverfordwest, Pembrokeshire we are looking for an experienced Technical Manager, to ensure all products conform to appropriate levels of legality, food safety, integrity, authenticity, quality and hygiene and meet all relevant food safety legislative requirements.
Responsibilities (include but are not limited to)
* Ensure high quality standards to satisfy customer requirements and BRCGS Certification
* Technical point of contact for customers and other sites
* Liaise with food safety and environment health enforcement officers
* Ensure all products meet agreed specifications and legal requirements
* Handle customer complaints
* Manage pest control contract
* Continual improvement of quality systems and HACCP
* Manage Technical and Laboratory staff to ensure efficient operation of the department
* Set up and chair staff consultative committee meetings
* Responsible for label first runs sign off.
* Liaise with site hygiene staff to ensure high levels of dairy hygiene
* Responsible for labels and labelling approval for Medina (Watson's) own brand and Customers
Technical department leader. Responsible to support QM and QC staff with their training needs.
* Manage internal auditing system.
* Be a member of the product recall team.
* Quality Manager deputises Technical Manager in his / her absence.
* Experience: Min 5 year experience in food processing industry
* Education:
* Degree in Food Science/ Dairy Technology or relevant field
Training Required:
* BRCGS Food Lead auditor training
* HACCP Level 4 training
* ISO 9001, 14001, 45001 Lead auditor trainings
Must have experience in Dairy sector
