You’ll be supporting students who may be facing social, emotional or behavioural challenges, helping them to develop confidence, self-esteem and resilience.</p><p>This isn’t just a job — it’s a chance to<b>change lives</b>while gaining invaluable hands‑on experience that can lead to future roles such as<b>School Counsellor, Pastoral Lead, Educational Psychologist, Youth Worker, or Mental Health Practitioner</b>.</p><p><b>What You’ll Be Doing</b></p><p>Offering<b>1:1 emotional and pastoral support</b>to students who may be struggling with anxiety, low self-esteem, or challenging circumstances</p><p>Assisting with<b>behaviour management</b>and helping to create a calm, supportive learning environment</p><p>Supporting<b>attendance and engagement</b>, helping students reconnect with their learning</p><p>Working closely with<b>teachers, safeguarding leads, counsellors and SEN staff</b>to implement individual support plans</p><p>Taking part in<b>wellbeing initiatives, group sessions and mentoring programmes</b></p><p>Promoting a culture of empathy, inclusion, and emotional awareness across the school</p><p><b>What I’m Looking For</b></p><p>A<b>caring, patient and empathetic personality</b>– someone who genuinely enjoys helping others</p><p>Ideally, a background or degree in<b>Psychology, Counselling, Criminology, Health & Social Care</b>or a related field (not essential)</p><p>Strong<b>communication and relationship‑building skills</b></p><p>Emotional resilience and the ability to remain calm under pressure</p><p>A genuine interest in<b>mental health, safeguarding, and youth development</b></p><p>A proactive and reliable approach – someone who’s not afraid to get involved and make a difference</p><p><b>What’s On Offer</b></p><p><b>Full‑time, term‑time</b>hours: Monday to Friday, 8:30am–3:30pm</p><p>Ongoing<b>training and development</b>through Milk Education</p><p>Access to our<b>Unbottled Wellbeing Programme</b>, designed to promote resilience, positivity and personal growth</p><p>Clear progression routes into<b>counselling, psychology, or teaching</b></p><p>The chance to work in<b>Dorking schools</b>that truly value empathy, kindness, and people who care</p><p><b>Why Work with Me at Milk Education</b></p><p>At<b>Milk Education</b>, we believe in<b>building brighter futures</b>— for students and for our candidates.
