Medivet Carterton is seeking a dedicated RVN to join their team on a full-time basis, working 40 hours per week. The role offers flexibility with either: 1:6 full weekends (Saturday and Sunday) or 1:3 Saturdays at our Woodstock 24-Hour hospital.
Carterton is managed by experienced Branch Partner Will, alongside two vets and a graduate. You will work closely with other RVNs, VCAs, CCAs, and the Practice Manager, ensuring a supportive working environment.
The practice is well-equipped with laparoscopic equipment, ultrasound, and soon-to-be-added dental x-ray. Facilities include two theatres, an imaging room, a large prep area, separate cat and dog wards, parking, and a large garden.
Laparoscopic surgeries are routinely performed here, along with some orthopaedic procedures.

Responsibilities
Client care:
* Deliver exceptional care to clients every day.
Patient care:
* Support vets during operations and procedures.
* Carry out nurse-led appointments.
* Monitor and care for patients.
* Manage admissions and discharges for procedures, as directed.
* Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records.
* Ensure pre- and post-operation activities are completed.
* Provide daily care, including walking, toileting, and feeding.
* Coordinate transfers to out-of-hours care providers or for enhanced care.
* Dispense and check medications, under vet guidance, ensuring all patient care aligns with clinical competence.
Standards and Compliance:
* Ensure clinical compliance with all regulatory and practice standards.
* Adhere to health and safety requirements.
Commercial performance:
* Maximize nurse-led appointments to enhance patient care and clinic capacity.
Communications:
* Hold daily briefings and coordinate team roles to support clinic operations.
Clinical administration:
* Take samples as directed by vets.
* Manage lab test packaging and dispatch.
* Manage stock effectively, including rotation and expiry management.
* Escalate issues to the Practice Manager or Vet/Lead Vet as needed.
* Prepare the back of house for procedures.
Skills, Knowledge, and Experience
* Must be an RCVS registered nurse.
* Ability to work effectively within a team.
* Support nurse consultations and understand their impact on clinic performance.
* Deliver exceptional client care.
* Utilize coaching and influencing skills to support colleagues.
