About the Role: As an SEMH Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with teachers and pastoral staff to support students who require additional emotional and behavioural guidance. You will play a key role in helping pupils engage with learning, manage their emotions, and develop positive relationships within the school community. Responsibilities: • Provide one-to-one and small group support for students with SEMH needs, promoting engagement and positive behaviour. • Assist in implementing personalised support plans and behaviour strategies tailored to individual students. • Build strong, trusting relationships to support emotional regulation and social development. • Support classroom activities, ensuring students can access learning effectively. • Work collaboratively with teachers, SENCOs, and pastoral teams to monitor progress and adapt strategies. • Maintain accurate records of student progress and behavioural development. Qualifications: • Previous experience supporting students with SEMH needs or challenging behaviour is desirable. • Strong behaviour management skills and the ability to remain calm under pressure. • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. • A patient, empathetic, and resilient approach to supporting young people. • A genuine passion for helping students overcome barriers to learning.
