An opportunity exists for a Finance Director within ASSA ABLOY Opening Solutions, UK & Ireland Door Group, reporting to the Managing Director. This role is based in Lisburn, Northern Ireland.
The Company is a leading manufacturer of high-performance steel and timber doors, tailored to individual project requirements from its Powershield, Prima, Safeguard, and SMARTec ranges. Door Group offers an end-to-end solution including Service and Repair of various door types through a dedicated department, which includes Fire Door Inspections.
The primary objective of this position is:
To manage the finance function across the Door Group, providing strong leadership and developing systems and processes to support improved management. To analyze performance, identify risks, ensure good financial governance, and play a major role in developing and implementing strategic plans to meet financial and growth targets.
Key responsibilities and duties include:
1. Supporting the preparation of realistic and achievable business plans and targets, ensuring company commitments are met.
2. Producing all financial information for the Door Group for reporting to the Group and senior management.
3. Managing the construction accounting process for full visibility of project sales and profitability throughout their lifecycle.
4. Seeking methods to enhance project efficiency and performance, ensuring data accuracy and reliability.
5. Reviewing and improving financial reporting processes for internal efficiency.
6. Developing and implementing IT systems to support seamless financial management from specification to cash collection.
7. Managing cash flow effectively.
8. Ensuring strong financial governance through effective controls and process improvements.
9. Preparing, monitoring, and maintaining forecasts and budgets at various intervals.
10. Controlling and reconciling business unit balance sheets.
11. Supporting statutory and legislative financial requirements, including audits and compliance with HMRC, Revenue, NISRA, and DFP.
12. Adhering to Group reporting requirements and deadlines.
13. Assessing and mitigating financial risks to the company.

The ideal candidate will have:
1. A qualification in Accountancy (ACA, ACCA, CIMA, or equivalent).
2. Previous experience in a senior finance role.
3. High-level functional and technical skills.
4. Experience with Microsoft Dynamics AX or NAV (preferably).
5. Advanced IT skills, including PowerPoint and Excel.
6. Experience in Manufacturing and/or Construction sectors.
7. Proven ability to work under tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
8. Strong relationship-building and influencing skills across organizational levels.
9. Excellent communication and presentation skills.
10. Ability to streamline processes and improve workflows.
11. Knowledge of metrics and measurement techniques.
12. Ability to identify opportunities for synergy and integration.
13. Capacity to simplify complex processes.
