Job Description
What is the opportunity?
You will be part of UK Cost Control with responsibility for the execution of cost management processes within a robust financial control framework. Your role will include the preparation of accurate financial data, analytics for business decisions, and related accounting processes. You will also be involved in standardising and optimising business processes and reporting within the central Cost Control Hub. RBC expects all employees and contractors to work in the office from mid-September 2025, with some flexibility to work remotely up to 1 day per week depending on arrangements.
What will you do?
1. Preparation of cost base financial and statistical data in line with financial reporting timelines including data validation, accruals/prepayments/IFRS 16 entries, and other cost adjustments.
2. Support the Tax department in preparing high-risk critical data related to Recoverable VAT and Reverse Charge VAT.
3. Identify opportunities to refine or streamline processes.
4. Engage in cost initiatives aimed at improving reporting and reducing costs where possible.
5. Produce management information to support behaviour change across RBC, including trend and variance analysis by business line.
6. Support the Head of Cost Control in developing and maintaining controls across processes.
7. Manage and review the Fixed Asset Register.
8. Ensure cost control and transfer pricing processes are aligned.
9. Analyse, reconcile, and report expenses across multiple cost centres within a complex legal entity structure.
10. Develop and document effective processes and controls, including UK Delegation of Authorities.
11. Understand the end-to-end cost base by business platform, including data flows, responsibilities, and controls.
12. Align global cost recharges with transfer pricing principles.
13. Build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders such as business managers, function heads, and Procurement.
14. Participate in Planning and Forecasting processes.
15. Support the Global FSS team with Accounts Payable issues, ensuring SLAs are met and escalations are addressed.

Must-have:
* Qualified Accountant
* Extensive post-qualified experience
* Experience in a financial control environment including cost control
* Autonomous working style; proactive in reducing costs
* Strong analytical skills with attention to detail
* Effective communication skills, both oral and written
* Collaborative mindset with influencing skills
* Strong delivery and people management abilities
* Solid understanding of debits and credits
* Flexible working style, capable of handling ambiguity and time pressures
Nice-to-have:
* Audit experience
* Experience with IFRS 16 and occupancy cost allocations
* Experience in Policy, Procedure & Process documentation
* Experience with Delegation of Authorities
* Experience managing budgets and forecasts
* Microsoft VBA skills
