Overview
Nightshift manager role focused on leading a store operation overnight, delivering replenishment activities, managing performance and safety, and ensuring high standards come morning. The role requires resilience to the physical and mental demands of night work and a commitment to creating a safe, inclusive environment for the team.
Responsibilities
* Lead a team overnight to deliver all replenishment activities across the store while prioritising deliveries, organising the warehouse, and replenishing shelves.
* Run a full store operation on your own overnight, being responsible for the full shift and the safety and wellbeing of colleagues in store.
* Ensure standards are excellent so the store is ready to serve customers in the morning.
* Manage people, including performance and capability, conduct disciplinaries, and ensure scheduling and pay accuracy.
* Maintain a safe and healthy environment for the team during night shifts and adapt to the physical and mental impact of overnight work.
* Have previous line management responsibilities in a fast-paced, operational environment.
* Demonstrate resilience to the mental and physical demands of working nights.
* Provide excellent customer service and coach the team to deliver the same.
* Experience delivering and monitoring KPIs or other performance indicators.
* Manage disciplinary, performance, or other employee relations issues as required.
* Lead operations and be comfortable operating independently in the absence of more senior management.
* Include inclusivity in all actions and demonstrate a track record of delivering brilliant customer service and coaching colleagues to do the same.
* Experience leading a team in a fast-paced, customer-facing environment with motivation, performance improvement, and smooth operations.
* Operational leadership skills, including responsibility for store operations in the absence of more senior managers.
* Demonstrated success in meeting or exceeding KPIs (sales, availability, customer satisfaction, colleague engagement) and making a measurable impact.
* Experience managing employee relations issues, including performance and absence management.
* Desirable: experience working night shifts in a high-volume, operational environment and creating a safe, supportive atmosphere for the team during out-of-hours trading.
