Facilities & Workshop Operations Manager Derby | Full-Time | Workshop & Office Based A well-established engineering organisation in Derby is looking to appoint a Facilities & Workshop Operations Manager to take ownership of a busy workshop environment and support the efficient day-to-day running of site operations. This is a hands-on role where you will act as the central point of coordination for facilities, workshop operations, inventory management and health & safety compliance. The position would suit someone who enjoys keeping environments organised, structured and running smoothly, while working closely with operational and engineering teams. Over the coming years, the site will evolve into a key workshop hub, making this a great opportunity to play a central role in shaping processes, systems and facility improvements. Key Responsibilities Oversee the day-to-day management of the workshop facility. Coordinate building maintenance, repairs and contractor activity. Ensure strong Health & Safety compliance, supporting H&S processes and documentation across the site. Manage inventory and asset tracking for tools, equipment and PPE. Coordinate workshop operations and support engineering teams with operational readiness. Maintain accurate records across internal systems, ensuring processes are followed consistently. Support ongoing improvements to site infrastructure and operational systems. Skills & Experience Strong organisational and administrative skills. Experience in facilities, depot, workshop, manufacturing or operational environments. Experience managing tools, inventory, or asset tracking systems. Comfortable working in a hands-on operational setting. Strong attention to detail and ability to manage structured processes. Desirable NEBOSH or IOSH Health & Safety qualification. Experience with ISO 45001 or similar safety standards. Experience using ERP or inventory systems (e.g. Business Central). Background in rail, engineering, manufacturing, or heavy industry environments. The Role Full-time position based on site in Derby. Combination of workshop and office responsibilities.
