Marketing, Sales and Event Coordinator – Maternity Cover (9.5 months)
Bisley Marquees & Hire Company is a family‑run event hire business based near Birdlip, Gloucestershire. We provide marquees, furniture, refrigerated trailers, luxury toilets and generators across the county and beyond for weddings, parties, corporate functions, festivals and sporting events. Our focus is on high‑quality service with excellent customer care.
As a full‑time (or 4‑day) maternity cover, you will work Monday‑Friday, 8:30 am – 4:30 pm (37.5 hrs/week) from 12 January – 30 October 2026. You will support our Sales and Event Executive, Company Directors and delivery crews.
Job responsibilities (not exhaustive):
* Provide a personal, bespoke service from enquiry through invoicing, delivery and beyond; manage client relationships, quotations, follow‑ups and booking.
* Respond to new and existing enquiries by phone and email.
* Prepare bespoke quotes and CAD drawings using our systems and processes.
* Maintain and update delivery schedules and event plans.
* Coordinate delivery and set‑up with marquee and trailer crews.
* Coordinate with other suppliers for deliveries and requirements.
* Maintain relationships with existing clients.
* Identify new business prospects and proactively secure new business.
* Implement and update our marketing plan, including social media, website and brochure updates.
* Assist with the organisation and delivery of our annual Open Event.
* Maintain vehicle records and book servicing/maintenance.
* Perform general office administration and other ad‑hoc duties as required.
Training will be provided on the job, covering our sales CRM system and CAD software.
Location: In‑person at our office in The Camp, near Birdlip – a rural setting with on‑site parking.
Person specification
* Professional, honest and highly motivated, with excellent written and verbal communication.
* Excellent organisational skills, detail‑oriented and follows processes methodically.
* Polite and professional with good interpersonal skills.
* Positive attitude and willingness to overcome challenges.
* Self‑motivated and able to work independently, and also a strong team player.
* Available weekday; occasional weekend work may be required.
Required skills
* Marketing experience, including running social media accounts.
* Strong communication skills (written and verbal).
* IT competency in Windows; quick to learn new programmes for scheduling, database and invoicing.
