Role Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented Accounts Assistant to support our finance operations. The ideal candidate will be experienced in Xero accounting software and capable of managing day-to-day financial processes including reconciliations, reporting, and payroll.
Key Responsibilities
* Maintain accurate financial records using Xero
* Perform bank reconciliations and monitor cash flow
* Prepare and submit Government reporting (VAT, HMRC filings, etc.)
* Process payroll for staff and contractors
* Support management with financial insights and reporting
* Assist with ad-hoc finance and administrative tasks
Requirements
* Proven experience with Xero accounting software
* Strong knowledge of bank reconciliation and financial controls
* Familiarity with Government reporting requirements (VAT, PAYE, HMRC)
* Experience in payroll processing
* Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills
* Ability to work independently and meet deadlines
