Our client, the government-owned company responsible for managing England’s motorways and major A roads, is seeking a talented Electrical Engineer to join their Midlands Asset Management team.
Based in their Nottingham office with flexible working (office/site/home), this is a key role supporting the planning, design, and delivery of improvements and renewals across the region’s street lighting and electrical infrastructure.
What You’ll Be Working On:
You’ll help manage a wide range of electrical assets - from feeder pillars and lighting columns to illuminated signage, bollards, and subway lighting - all fed by a complex private cable network.
Your responsibilities will include:
* Developing feasibility studies and early-stage designs for asset renewals or enhancements.
* Preparing and reviewing documentation and evidence to support value management and option selection.
* Managing survey briefs and technical requirements for third-party design contractors.
* Supporting the development of safe, cost-effective, and buildable asset management solutions.
* Ensuring all work aligns with health, safety, and wellbeing standards for both customers and employees.
What We’re Looking For:
* Degree, HND, or HNC in Electrical Engineering or related discipline (or equivalent experience).
* Strong experience in the design, inspection, and management of electrical and lighting assets.
* Proficient in AutoCAD and cable calculation software.
* Good working knowledge of CDM 2015 regulations.
* A full UK driving licence with no more than 3 penalty points (essential, due to site travel requirements).
