We have a fantastic opportunity to join Thames Water as an Electrical Technician based at our wastewater treatment site on the outskirts of Oxford.
You will be part of a newly created frontline support team responsible for supporting the day-to-day operations and improvements of wastewater treatment processes for the project upgrade within the Thames Valley North Area of Waste & Bioresources Operations.

As the Electrical Technician, your role will be to ensure that all equipment at our wastewater production sites operates safely and efficiently through proactive and reactive maintenance. Responsibilities include inspecting, maintaining, fault diagnosing, testing, installing, modifying, or repairing electrical equipment. You will also investigate plant failures and perform repairs promptly to minimize process interruptions. Additionally, you will provide technical advice, referencing up-to-date technical knowledge, and support or train technical trainees if needed.
Key responsibilities include:
* Investigating and diagnosing complex faults and performing repairs during incidents.
* Working on equipment such as motors, gearboxes, conveyors, centrifuges, pumps, control gear, 3-phase motors, starters, controls, electronic control systems (VSD, automatic valves), flow, level, and pressure measurement devices, PLCs, and chemical handling and dosing equipment.
Location: Oxford STW - OX4 4YU
Working Pattern: 38 hours Monday-Friday on a shift pattern over 7 days

Qualifications and experience:
* NVQ or C&G Level 3 in Electrical Engineering (essential)
* 18th Edition qualification (desirable, training available)
* Knowledge of health and safety policies
* Significant experience in electrical systems, preferably in an industrial or water industry setting
* Valid driving license for travel within the Northeast Water Production Area
