Oncology Patient Care Assistant role at CVS Group UK
We are seeking an enthusiastic individual who loves animals to join us at Bristol Vet Specialists as an Oncology Patient Care Assistant. The role is full‑time, working 40 hours per week.
About the Role
As a Patient Care Assistant you will support a team of qualified veterinary nurses and doctors to provide outstanding care to our patients. You will work in a chemotherapy environment, helping to deliver high quality care while ensuring the safety and well‑being of both animals and staff.
Duties
* Work in a chemotherapy environment and handle cytotoxic patients safely.
* Provide nursing care to patients and assist with administering medication.
* Help doctors and nurses restrain animals for treatment.
* Clean, walk, and feed patients and maintain general hygiene of the clinic.
* Perform general cleaning and maintenance duties.
* Run internal laboratory samples as required.
Qualifications
* Excellent communicator with strong empathy.
* Excellent customer‑service skills and experience interacting with members of the public.
* Experience in animal welfare, including feeding, cleaning, medicating and handling, with a high level of understanding of animals’ welfare needs.
* Resilient and able to cope with potentially distressing and emotional situations.
* Positive attitude and strong teamwork skills.
* Experience looking after animals in a veterinary environment is desirable.
