Job Overview
We are seeking an experienced and dynamic General Manager to lead and oversee the daily operations of our hospitality or food service establishment. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills, extensive management experience within the food industry, and a passion for delivering exceptional customer service. This role requires a strategic thinker capable of managing staff, controlling inventory, ensuring food safety standards, and maintaining high-quality service in a fast-paced environment. The General Manager will be instrumental in driving business growth, maintaining operational excellence, and fostering a positive team culture.
Duties
* Oversee daily restaurant or hospitality operations, ensuring smooth and efficient service delivery
* Manage staff including hiring, training, supervising, and conducting performance evaluations
* Develop and implement operational policies to optimize productivity and customer satisfaction
* Control inventory levels, manage food production processes, and ensure proper food handling and safety standards
* Handle budgeting, financial reporting, and cost control measures to meet business objectives
* Maintain compliance with health regulations and safety standards such as food safety protocols
* Utilize POS systems including Aloha POS and Micros POS for sales processing and reporting
* Lead staff training programs focused on food preparation, customer service, and operational procedures
* Manage shift schedules, ensure adequate staffing levels, and oversee shift management activities
* Foster a positive work environment that promotes teamwork, accountability, and professional development
* Address customer concerns promptly to uphold high levels of customer satisfaction
* Coordinate catering events, banquets, or special functions as needed
Qualifications
* Proven management experience in the food service industry or hospitality management roles
* Extensive knowledge of restaurant operations including food preparation, kitchen management, and food safety standards
* Experience with POS systems such as Aloha POS and Micros POS; cash handling expertise preferred
* Strong leadership skills with experience in team management, training & development, and supervising staff
* Background in managing casual dining or fine dining establishments; experience in quick service & fast food restaurants is a plus
* Excellent communication skills with the ability to interview candidates and conduct staff training effectively
* Ability to manage budgets, control costs, and oversee inventory control processes
* Knowledge of culinary practices including cooking techniques and food production processes
* Hospitality industry experience including hotel or catering operations is advantageous
* Demonstrated ability to lead a team through change management while maintaining high standards of service quality
