We are seeking a Senior Account Handler (Underwriter) in our Commercial Schemes division to support our Rural Team. This role focuses on rural/farming clients and is ideal for someone experienced with High Net Worth or Commercial insurance, Delegated Authorities, or Rural clients. Knowledge of Acturis is a plus.
This is a full-time, permanent role based in our Bedford office, with an expectation of being onsite about 2 days a week and occasional client visits.
Responsibilities include:
* Achieving client retention through excellent service
* Collaborating with Account Executives on renewal strategies
* Conducting market exercises for competitive terms
* Presenting renewal offers to clients
* Issuing renewal documentation
* Processing adjustments and collecting premiums
* Producing reports and summaries
* Ensuring premiums are collected before coverage begins
* Recording information accurately on Acturis and managing diaries
Success factors:
* At least 2 years’ experience as an underwriter or account handler with HNW or commercial products
* Experience with Delegated Authority or Rural Clients preferred
* Knowledge of Acturis advantageous
* Attention to detail and efficiency
* Strong prioritization and deadline management
* Excellent negotiation, communication, and client service skills
Qualifications:
* 5 GCSEs including Maths and English at grade C or above (or equivalent)
