Finance Assistant - Purchase Ledger

Location: Filleigh, North Devon

Role Overview

As a Purchase Ledger Assistant you will be part of the Accounting Services Team, supporting the UK and overseas agencies. You will use our bespoke system to record purchase orders, invoices and expenses, assist with cash management and bank reconciliation.


Key Responsibilities

* Distribute supplier invoices for authorisation using our bespoke system
* Code and process supplier invoices
* Process staff expense claims
* Ensure internal controls are followed and VAT is correctly accounted for
* Reconcile supplier statements and expense accounts
* Investigate and resolve discrepancies, working with Client Service teams and suppliers when needed


Requirements

* Previous experience working within a finance team
* Excellent working knowledge of MS Office, especially Excel and Word
* Strong written and verbal communication skills
* Keen eye for detail, with the ability to process transactions accurately and in a timely manner
* Exposure to Sage 200 and AAT Level 3 is desirable; training will be provided if not essential
