This role is essential in managing the firms credit control processes, ensuring timely collection of outstanding debts, and maintaining strong client relationships. Prior experience in a legal environment preferred, but not essential. Key responsibilities Proactively chase overdue invoices via telephone and email Maintain accurate and comprehensive records of all communications and agreed payment timelines Analyse and reduce aged debt, particularly 90 day balances Build and maintain strong relationships with clients to support effective credit control Liaise with solicitors and Client Relation Managers (CRMS) regarding aged debt matters Escalate problematic debts to Credit Control Supervisor as appropriate Upload invoices to client portals in a timely and accurate manner Assist the cashiering team with the allocation of unidentified payments Resolve and respond promptly to client queries Perform ad hoc duties as required to support the wider finance function Job Types: Full-time, Permanent Pay: from £30,000 What were looking for: Demonstrated success in a credit control role, experience in a legal environment preferred, but not essential Excellent verbal and written communication skills High attention to detail and a proactive, solution- focused approach Proficiency in Microsoft office, particularly excel Strong organisational skills with the ability to prioritise workload effectively Analytical mindset to support query resolution Familiarity with legal accounting software preferred
