Our client, a leading global provider of Satellite Communications and IT Support services to the Government, Maritime, and Defence sectors if looking for a Project Manager with Maritime experience. With 55 years of expertise and a strong international presence, they deliver tailored communications solutions to meet the unique requirements of their customers. They are now seeking a Maritime Project Manager to take ownership of complex UK MOD maritime implementation projects across Royal Navy, Royal Fleet Auxiliary, and other UK Government vessels.
Main Purpose of the Role:
* Full delivery and management of UK MOD maritime implementation projects.
* Lead multiple concurrent or sequential maritime installation projects.
* Act as primary liaison between internal teams, suppliers, subcontractors, and customers.
Key Responsibilities:
* Produce Equipment Guidance Packages (EGP), Installation Guidance Packages (IGP), and Modification Leaflets based on engineering designs, surveys, and stakeholder inputs.
* Manage the Change Impact Assessment Process (CIAP) with internal Engineering, Assurance Teams, and Customers.
* Provide regular project reporting within internal governance structures and directly to customers.
* Represent the client at key customer governance meetings, providing schedule, progress, risks, opportunities, and dependency updates.
* Manage procurement schedules, equipment lead-times, and subcontractor delivery according to project implementation plans.
* Support and collaborate with other Project Managers to ensure smooth project progression across the organisation.
* Contribute to continuous improvement of the Project Management function and through-life support capability.
* Coordinate with suppliers/subcontractors to ensure timely and compliant delivery of equipment and services.
Decision Making & Accountability:
* Make informed decisions on work priorities and goal setting with project teams.
* Take ownership of issues, proactively coordinating responses before escalation.
* Operate independently within authority level, consulting leadership as required.
What They Are Looking For:
* Proven Project Management experience with UK MOD and other UK Government departments.
* Experience managing UK MOD maritime electrical installation projects.
* Strong technical understanding of electrical, electronic, IT networking, and satellite communication systems.
* Skilled in producing EGPs, IGPs, and Modification Leaflets to a high professional standard.
* Excellent communication skills with a customer-focused, proactive, and flexible approach.
* Highly organised with the ability to manage multiple priorities and tight deadlines.
* Confident decision-maker with strong problem-solving abilities.
* Experienced in standard office applications with strong numeracy and literacy skills.
* Must hold or have the ability to obtain DV Security Clearance.
* Willing to travel as required.
