You will be based predominantly at the Royal Preston Hospital and facilitate the delivery of high-quality Gastroenterology services across both sites at Lancashire Teaching Hospitals, with rotating in-reach provision to Chorley General Hospital.
1. Provide direct patient care on the gastroenterology ward (Ward 24) at Royal Preston Hospital, support resident doctors and advanced clinical practitioners (ACPs) with ward referrals, and participate in Gastroenterology in-reach to the Emergency Department and Chorley Hospital on a rotational basis.
2. Participate in specialty multi-disciplinary meetings, governance, and business meetings.
3. Maintain high professional standards of clinical care through direct patient care and ongoing professional development.
4. Develop close links with local General Practitioners and community allied health professionals to support patient care across providers.
5. Support postgraduate and undergraduate education by providing endoscopy training, supervising clinics, and participating in clinical and educational supervision.
