Salary: Grade 1 (Points 3-4) £24,796 - £25,185. Actual salary £9,755 - £9,908

Preston School is seeking a dedicated and reliable Cleaner to join our site team. Working under the general supervision of our Site Manager, you will ensure that our classrooms, offices, and communal spaces are maintained to an exceptional standard of cleanliness and hygiene. Your work will directly contribute to a safe, pleasant, and thriving learning environment for our students, staff, and visitors.
Key Responsibilities
1. Daily Cleaning Operations: Vacuuming, mopping, dusting, polishing, and internal window cleaning across designated areas (classrooms, toilets, corridors, and halls).
2. Hygiene & Safety: Sanitizing high-touch surfaces daily (desks, door handles, light switches) and replenishing essential consumables like soap and paper towels.
3. Waste Management: Emptying waste bins and disposing of rubbish safely at external collection points.
4. Health & Safety Compliance: Operating cleaning equipment safely, utilizing "Wet Floor" signage, and handling/storing chemicals strictly in line with COSHH regulations.
5. Maintenance Support: Identifying and reporting any site damages or hazards immediately to the Site Manager.
6. Deep Cleaning: Participating in periodic deep cleaning programmes, such as carpet shampooing and floor buffing, typically during school holiday periods.
7. Stock & Equipment Care: Keeping cleaning equipment in good working order and monitoring stock levels to notify supervisors when reorders are needed.
