The role: Contract & Subcontract Management: Ensure compliance with Head Contract provisions, prepare accurate subcontract scopes, negotiate subcontract terms, process payments, and finalise claims and Deeds of Release. Commercial & Financial Oversight: Support cost control, progress and variation claims, delay notices, and ensure accurate project cost reporting and compliance with financial systems (e.g. Viewpoint). Risk & Tender Management: Evaluate contract risks during tender, monitor tender processes, and advise on high-risk activities to minimise financial and operational impacts. Team Leadership & Training: Lead and support commercial/admin staff, deliver contract administration training, manage performance, and adapt leadership style to team needs. Stakeholder & Compliance Coordination: Liaise with internal teams, subcontractors, and clients; manage expectations; ensure compliance with legislation, company policies, and industry standards. About you: Relevant formal qualifications (degree, diploma, certificate in financial or commercial administration). Extensive experience in commercial/contracts management in a principal contractor environment is crucial for managing large-scale project contracts effectively. Demonstrated understanding of Client head contract documents (relevant State authorities), key for ensuring compliance and proper contract execution. Experience with and understanding of financial/cost/project management systems and processes vital for budget control, forecasting, and financial reporting. Understanding of Company subcontract terms and their implications for project delivery and risk is essential for managing subcontractor relationships and minimising risks. Sound negotiation skills are important for managing claims, disputes, and securing favourable outcomes.
