A little more about your role… The Mining, and Minerals business is looking to employ a Principal / Senior Mechanical Engineer with sector specific transferable skills to undertake a Concept study / engineering role for mineral processing plants supporting small to large scale projects in a multi-discipline environment. A degree in mechanical or mineral engineering is required. The Role The successful candidate will be able to contribute to layout, design and specification of mineral processing, metallurgical and hydrometallurgical processing facilities as well as materials handling facilities for studies and engineering contracts. Liaison with other engineering and project disciplines is required to ensure that equipment requirements are captured and that engineering information is fed back into the process plant design process. They will be required to specify and select equipment and engage with the equipment supply chain to ensure that project needs are captured. It is essential that the candidate can ensure that work complies with necessary corporate and legislative requirements and procedures, to ensure that the necessary consistency and quality of the project delivery is maintained. They will address and resolve any functional issues within a project through use of their technical capabilities and engineering judgement, applying own skills to generate innovative solutions as appropriate. In collaboration with the WSP they generate value adding options within projects to offer to clients to improve both the chance of WSP winning work and satisfaction with completed and ongoing work. What we will be looking for you to demonstrate • A Degree in mechanical or mineral engineering is required. • Demonstrated ability to manage complex projects and lead multi-disciplinary teams. • Excellent communication skills and willingness to travel within the UK and internationally.
