RS Scaffolding is looking for an experienced part-time Payroll and Accounts Assistant to join our friendly office team. This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys working in a busy, hands‑on environment and has knowledge of Sage 50 Accounts and Payroll.
Key Responsibilities
* Process weekly payroll for site operatives and office staff using Sage Payroll
* Manage employee records including starters, leavers, holidays, and absences
* Process PAYE, pensions, and HMRC submissions
* Input and reconcile purchase invoices, sales invoices, and bank accounts
* Support with VAT returns, journals, and month‑end reporting
* Liaise with suppliers, clients, and staff regarding payroll and accounts queries
* Provide general administrative support to the Finance Manager and wider team
Skills and Experience
* Previous experience in payroll and bookkeeping
* Proficient in Sage 50 Accounts and Sage Payroll
* Excellent attention to detail and strong organisational skills
* Confident with Microsoft Excel and general IT systems
* Ability to work independently and as part of a small, supportive team
Desirable Qualifications
* AAT qualification (or working towards)
* Experience preparing VAT returns
