Our client is a well-established leader in the UK’s clean energy sector, delivering solar PV, battery storage, and electric vehicle (EV) charging infrastructure across the public and private sectors. The Opportunity
We’re seeking a hands-on O&M Manager to lead a team responsible for maintaining a nationwide portfolio of public-sector EV charge points. This strategic role involves fault resolution, service improvement, system implementation, and subcontractor management.
Key Responsibilities
* Provide support for critical faults and oversee reactive maintenance to ensure high network uptime.
* Manage the annual PPM schedule and support complex issues for reliable operations.
* Identify regional coverage gaps, recruit and onboard subcontractors, negotiate terms, and lead performance reviews.
* Improve field operations through route optimisation, workflow redesign, and admin/mileage reduction.
* Report and analyse charger usage and fault trends to inform service improvements.
* Lead the rollout of digital tools such as ticketing systems and workforce platforms.
* Manage a team of O&M coordinators and junior engineers, including performance reviews and training.
* Own the P&L for O&M, set budgets, approve POs, and monitor financial performance.
* Require 3+ years' experience in managing multi-site field service or maintenance operations (EV charging, utilities, fibre, telecoms, or similar).
* Proven success in managing teams and subcontractors.
* Experience with digital service platforms (e.g., CMMS, helpdesk, route-planning tools).
* Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel.
* Electrical training or qualifications.
* IOSH Managing Safely or NEBOSH General Certificate.
* Experience with public-sector frameworks or clients.
* Strong data analysis skills and an insight-driven approach.
