Reporting to the CFO, you’ll be a key member of the financial leadership team, contributing to the delivery of the financial strategy in alignment with the organisation’s vision and mission.
This role is one-year to support the team through a CFO transition, and a wider organisational transformational project, but may be extended.
This role is based either in Ashford, UK or the Cairns, Australia Office. Hybrid working patterns are supportable with weekly presence in the office. Other locations would be considered if the ideal candidate is identified.
Salary: £52,900-£59,300 (UK) / AUD $97,100 - AUD 110,300 (AUS) depending on experience
Duration: 1 year fixed term

Responsibilities
In this role, you will provide strategic financial leadership by overseeing the preparation of group management accounts, co-ordinating annual budgets, and leading global audits.
You will work closely with senior leadership to enhance reporting, develop key financial indicators, and ensure compliance with financial regulations across all locations. You will provide expert guidance to finance teams, support programme operations through visits and internal audits, and ensure accurate reporting to stakeholders. Additionally, you will manage company secretarial duties and benefits administration, including payroll and insurance provisions for staff and pensioners.
You will lead and develop a global finance team, fostering a culture of service, accountability, and continuous professional development. This includes overseeing workforce planning, financial risk management, and the implementation of strong internal controls. You will also be responsible for maintaining financial data integrity and ensuring compliance with data protection standards. As a spiritual leader, you will model Christian values in the workplace, lead prayer and reflection within your team, and encourage participation in corporate worship. Maintaining your own spiritual growth will be essential to living out the mission and values of MAF.
Essential
Qualifications, Skills & Experience
* A pro-active, service orientated, senior finance professional with a recognised accounting qualification, and familiar with UK Charity and Company law.
* Aptitude in numerical and verbal reasoning
* Aptitude for communication at all levels
* Ability to analyse and interpret financial data and for reviewing contracts and legal documentation.
