About the role The Department of Social and Policy Sciences is an internationally renowned Department, and one of the leading centres for social sciences in the UK. It offers programmes in social work, sociology, social policy, criminology and international development ( Department of Social & Policy Sciences ). In addition to the Centre for Development Studies DPSP is home to the Centre for Analysis of Social Policy, and the Centre for Death and Society. It also has strong relations with the Institute for Policy Research. This post is intended to make a significant contribution to our teaching capacity in social work. Social work at the University of Bath has a very strong reputation in the UK and internationally, evidenced in its research contributions to the international scholarly community; its research impact through professional and public engagement; its effective track record of collaborative work with service providers and service users; its highly successful undergraduate programme which is consistently ranked among the very top programmes in the UK; and its exceptionally high student satisfaction ratings. You will be expected to contribute to core teaching on our BSc Social Work and Applied Social Studies and MRes Social Work. You will be expected to support students on placement and provide guidance and support to those assessing the student’s practice. Our ideal candidate You will already have some teaching experience. We will consider specialisms in any sub-field of social work but are particularly keen to strengthen the department’s interests in social work with children and families. You will have a qualification in Social Work and be registered with Social Work England or be eligible and willing to register.
