Good work has been done but there is more to do to ensure the engineering function in this business collaborate fully and are intertwined with operations, supply chain and technical for the operation to be as effective and run as smoothly as possible. The main elements of this role are: Team leadership - heading up maintenance engineers, providing direction, educating and training and being that manager who leads the team as well as being part of it. Ensuring the Maintenance strategy is well communicated, constantly up-to-date and refined as the business objectives and challenges change. CMMS Integration: To track and manage maintenance activities, and ensure all PPM is scheduled through the CMMS. To create and manage the maintenance budgets including costings, resource allocation and procurement of spare parts. Equipment Reliability! This is always top of the agenda for any maintenance manager - working with Production, Planning, Technical, Supply Chain and Hygiene to improve reliability and performance of equipment. As always, promote a strong safety culture ensuring all work it undertaken in accordance with safety regulations Continuous Improvement is always on the list to keep ahead, look for the most optimum ways of working and be as effective and lean as possible. This role needs a a good leader of teams who can gain respect by listening, training, collaborating and allowing growth through accountability. Building a team of maintenance engineers who are inquisitive, can communicate and be proactive in nature as well as dealing with the unexpected as always happens in any factory environment. What experience do you need in your background? Proven experience in maintenance management in a manufacturing or logistics environment - ideally FMCG. Strong leadership and people management with a focus on team development. Proficiency in CMMS and a good understanding of planned and preventative maintenance. A collaborative approach, proven skills in building a team culture with the other functions. Well-rounded communication and problem-solving skills.
