Commercial Contract Senior Manager
KPMG Birmingham or Leeds
Role and Responsibilities:
1. Managing the commercial and contractual aspects of complex engagements which KPMG is delivering to clients. These include our Blue Chips, FTSE and large Corporate (international) clients.
2. Activate and “bring to life” the agreed contracts and schedules, in complex KPMG client engagements, to ensure commercial and contractual obligations are understood and effectively managed by the KPMG engagement teams
3. Design and execute the day-to-day contractual and commercial management processes to be used on these engagements to manage, revenue, profitability and delivery risks
4. Escalate and implement corrective actions where necessary when engagements unduly deviate and fall short of the expected returns or expose KPMG to heightened commercial / contractual risk
5. In a timely manner, liaise with clients on their commercial and contractual matters and implications throughout an engagement, keeping them pro-actively informed of progress, evolving benefits, risks etc and managing their expectations.
6. Equally monitor, liaise with and take necessary actions relating to the commercial and contractual matters of any sub-contractors / strategic alliance partners etc who are instrumental to the client engagement
7. Provide KPI’s to Commercial Management leadership on client activities, actions and value created.
8. Support the Engagement Lead (and team) on raising and negotiating change controls – and managing service levels

15. Negotiation – A commercially astute and strong negotiator who can hold/protect margin in contract discussions whilst taking on responsibility for liaising with client procurement functions.
16. Stakeholder Management – Reporting into Head of Commercial Management and strong functional alignment to the Chief Operating Officer, Consulting. Individual will have a strong track record of effective stakeholder management and collaboration, able to demonstrate influence and appropriate gravitas towards the KMPG UK Partner Group, engagement teams and external clients
17. Sector
18. Experience within associated markets essential, preferably those operating in complex contracting environments such as Technology, Engineering, Construction, Energy and Natural Resource sectors.
19. Experience of working in or with Professional Services organisations, with a particular preference for Advisory Consulting
20. Process – co shape a sustainable legacy and operating model which allows Partners and Engagement teams to efficiently and successful manage the engagement profitability, wider commercial performance and contractual risk of each those complex engagements KPMG has secured with clients
