Position Type: Substantive Full Time - 36 hours per week
Band and Salary: Band 3 – Salary Range £29,103 - £31,409 per annum
Distant Islands Allowance: £2,578 pro‑rata per annum
About the Role
Join the Finance Department at NHS Shetland as a Finance Officer as part of a rotational Financial Accounts team. Responsibilities include coverage of the Sales Ledger, Purchase Ledger, Cashiering and other finance duties within a complex organisation. This role offers exposure to core finance processes and the opportunity to develop a broad, transferable skill set.
Responsibilities
* Maintain and reconcile the Sales Ledger.
* Process and monitor Purchase Ledger transactions.
* Cashiering duties including cash handling and reconciliation.
* Support other finance functions within the Financial Accounts team.
* Assist with financial reporting, budgeting and analysis as required.
Qualifications & Requirements
* Previous experience in finance or accounting roles.
* Strong analytical and organizational skills.
* Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
* Good knowledge of financial processes and systems.
* Compliance with the Induction Standards and Code of Conduct for Healthcare Support Workers within 3 months of commencing.
* Must have right to work in the UK and no sponsorship requirement.
* Applicants may need to join the Protecting Vulnerable Groups (PVG) Scheme prior to formal offer.
