About the Role
We are looking for an Estimations Lead with a strong background in estimating and structural product design to join our team. The role focuses on producing accurate, competitive quotations and technical schedules for bespoke support systems used within the construction sector.
You'll use tools such as AutoCAD, Bluebeam, and SolidWorks to interpret drawings, prepare costings, and provide technical input. Alongside the technical work, you'll lead and mentor a small team, ensuring projects are delivered to client requirements and deadlines.
Key Responsibilities
* Lead the estimating function, supporting and mentoring junior estimators and CAD staff.
* Prepare accurate quotations, costings, and schedules for structural and bespoke construction support products.
* Interpret construction drawings and specifications using AutoCAD/Bluebeam/SolidWorks to extract accurate technical data.
* Collaborate with structural engineering colleagues to ensure compliance with industry standards.
* Produce cost variations to support live projects and provide clear project handovers.
* Build strong client relationships through follow-ups, meetings, and site visits.
* Support training sessions and technical presentations for internal staff and customers.
What We're Looking For
* Several years' experience in estimating or design/technical roles within the construction or building products industry.
* Strong understanding of structural systems and construction processes.
* Proficiency in AutoCAD, with experience of Bluebeam and/or SolidWorks highly desirable.
* Proven ability to interpret drawings, calculate material/labour requirements, and produce competitive costings.
* Commercially aware, target-driven, and ambitious.
* Experience of leading, mentoring, or supporting a small technical/estimating team.
* Excellent communication and organisational skills, comfortable in client-facing situations.
