Base Location
For this role, we require successful applicants to be based from one of our Scottish locations (Inverness, Aberdeen, Perth); however as the project is based in the North West of Scotland, Inverness would be preferable. The successful candidate will be expected to spend the majority of their time on site to support the delivery of the project.
Salary
£50,100 - £75,100 + car / car allowance + performance‑related bonus + a range of benefits to support your finances, wellbeing and family.

The role
As a Project Manager within the SSEN Transmission (SSENT) Offshore team, you will play a key role in the successful delivery of large‑scale offshore transmission projects across the north of Scotland. This role is within the Western Isles HVDC Link Project which will provide a new subsea cable connecting renewable power and support the country's drive to a secure and net zero energy future.
Reporting to the Senior Project Manager, you will be responsible for the safe, timely and cost‑effective delivery of the Cable Engineering package for on and offshore electrical infrastructure, with a primary focus on underground cabling and associated installation works.
You will
* Lead the delivery of the underground cable package, ensuring clear scope, effective coordination and successful delivery from design through to handover.
* Promote a strong safety culture, ensuring all works are planned and delivered in line with relevant legislation and high safety standards.
* Manage project schedules, identifying risks and constraints, and driving actions to maintain progress and programme alignment.
* Oversee cost and commercial performance, including budgets, forecasts, variations and contractor payments, ensuring value for money.
* Build and manage effective relationships with contractors, stakeholders and internal teams to coordinate design, consents and construction activities.
You have
* Proven experience delivering civil engineering or infrastructure projects, ideally involving underground cables or linear works.
* Strong understanding of cable installation methods and associated construction activities.
* Good knowledge of UK health and safety requirements, including CDM regulations.
* Experience working with NEC3 (or similar) contracts, including managing change and commercial processes.
* Strong planning, problem‑solving and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to drive performance across multiple interfaces.
