Specialist Primary Teaching Assistant Start Date: ASAP or September Location: Preston Position Type: Full-time & part-time (Monday – Friday, 8:50am – 3:20pm) Pay: From £93 per day (£14.30 an hour) We are currently recruiting for dedicated and enthusiastic candidates to join a supportive and inclusive school in Preston (PR1) with an immediate start available. There are both full and part-time hours available supporting pupils with a range of special educational needs, including autism, ADHD, speech and language difficulties, and social, emotional, and mental health difficulties. The school is committed to providing a nurturing environment where every child is supported to achieve their full potential. The staff are very friendly and supportive and are always happy to answer questions and give advice. The Role: • Provide 1:1 and small group support for pupils with SEN • Work closely with the class teacher to adapt learning materials and activities • Support the implementation of EHCPs and Individual Education Plans (IEPs) • Encourage positive behaviour and emotional regulation • Promote pupils’ independence, confidence, and engagement in learning • Collaborate effectively with teachers, SENCOs, and support staff Requirements: • Previous experience supporting children/adults with SEN (preferred) • Experience working within a school setting is desirable but not essential • A patient, proactive, and resilient attitude • Strong communication and teamwork skills • A genuine passion for working with children • An enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one) This is a fantastic opportunity to join a welcoming school community that values inclusion, teamwork, and pupil progress.
