Job Description
I am excited to share that we are currently looking for a permanent Facilities Assistant to join our Premises Team, under the guidance of the Facilities Manager. The Facilities Assistant will play a crucial role in supporting our esteemed educational facility in Kent. The position entails a commitment of 37 hours per week from Monday to Friday, with a typical working pattern of 8 am until 4 pm. The role may involve working across both campuses as required, and shift work may be necessary for covering holidays and any sickness. The salary for this position aligns with Kent Scale C.
Job Duties
The Facilities Assistant job will require:
The Facilities team is dedicated to providing a high-quality service that ensures our school premises and grounds are clean, comfortable, accessible, and safe for all users. The Facilities Assistant would maintain the school grounds, carrying out minor repairs and routine maintenance, supervising external contractors while they are on site, and acting as a key holder, ensuring the building is secure at the end of each day.
Cleaning duties
The frequency of spot and emergency cleaning required to maintain hygiene standards.
Regularly check and empty rubbish bins located around the site..
Undertake repairs and maintenance, when necessary.
Ensure that paths, access points, and entrances are clear of snow, ice, or dangerous substances to guarantee safe passage.
Conduct litter picking around the site to maintain its cleanliness.
Site Management
Verify that all arrangements for securing the premises and contents are in place.
Receive and check goods and supplies, distributing them as necessary.
Monitor and ensure the efficient working of heating and lighting in the plant, focusing on energy saving throughout the school.
Report any defects in buildings, furniture, fittings, and plant to your line manager for further instructions.

Job Offer

Requirements
Previous experience working in a school or similar environment would be an advantage. The Cleaner will have knowledge of health and safety and use of cleaning equipment. Have good interpersonal skills with the ability to listen. Must be physically fit. Eligible to work in the UK. Reliability and dependability Enhanced DBS essential
