Purpose of the role
The Apprentice Laboratory Technician will perform laboratory-based specimen preparation and testing for Concrete, Asphalt, and Quarry products in accordance with relevant EN and British standards and company procedures. Heidelberg Materials UK is committed to maintaining an industry-leading level of customer satisfaction through continuous assurance and improvement of its product portfolio and technical services by developing, documenting, and maintaining a comprehensive quality management program. You will work as part of a team with supervision, maintaining high standards and attention to detail.
During this contract, you will be required to complete a study programme run by an approved Apprenticeship provider, requiring commitment and dedication to succeed.
Key Accountabilities
1. Maximize the contribution of the technical departments towards ensuring cost-effective product manufacture.
2. Establish and maintain product quality levels consistent with commercial/operational drivers and customer requirements.
3. Provide high-quality technical support to commercial, operations, and external customers.
4. Perform other duties as requested by your manager.
Education/Qualifications
* 5 GCSEs at Grade 4-9, including Maths and English, or equivalent competence.
