About the Role
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Childcare Worker to join a professional care team supporting children and young people with complex needs, including emotional and behavioural challenges. This full-time role involves providing consistent, nurturing, and structured care within a supportive residential environment.
Key Responsibilities
* Provide high-quality day-to-day care and emotional support to children and young people
* Build positive, trusting relationships that promote emotional well‑being and development
* Support children in achieving their personal, social, and educational goals
* Maintain a safe, clean, and engaging home environment in line with safeguarding and health & safety policies
* Assist with care planning, daily routines, and behaviour management strategies
* Maintain accurate records and contribute to reports for internal and external professionals
* Promote independence, confidence, and self-esteem through tailored support and encouragement
What We're Looking For
* Previous experience working with children or young people, particularly in a residential or supported care setting
* Understanding of trauma‑informed care and behavioural support strategies
* Strong communication, teamwork, and problem‑solving skills
* Ability to stay calm under pressure and handle challenging behaviours constructively
* Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare (or equivalent)
* Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of young people
