Job Role: Maintenance Person
The maintenance person will ensure the premises and grounds are maintained to a high standard, providing residents with a safe, comfortable, and pleasant environment. Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
1. Carrying out repairs or contacting engineers/service agents as applicable.
2. Conducting visual electrical checks on equipment, reporting faults to the Home Manager and Electrical Contractor.
3. Completing daily/weekly/monthly fire checks, including fire alarm systems, extinguishers, fire doors, and sprinkler systems.
4. Performing pre-weekend checks on lights, electrical systems, and heating before weekends or bank holidays.
5. Submitting monthly meter readings for gas, electricity, and water.
6. Undertaking general redecoration works as instructed by the Home Manager.
7. Maintaining grounds, including mowing grass, pruning shrubs and bushes, and weed control.
8. Respecting residents' privacy and communicating with nursing staff regarding works affecting resident care.
9. Participating in collating key performance indicator data under the direction of the Home Manager.
10. Performing any ad hoc duties to meet service delivery needs.
Requirements:
* Maintenance experience (minor electrical, plumbing, joinery).
* Knowledge of current Health and Safety regulations.
* Previous experience in a care environment is advantageous.
* Valid driving license and own transportation.
* IT literacy, including proficiency with Microsoft Office and comfort using PC or laptop.
* Good communication skills.
* Confident team player.
* Willingness to receive training on Health & Safety, Fire, and EHO issues.
* Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks.
