Overview
The Westminster School (SIPS) is a special school (catering for students with Autism Spectrum Disorder, Global Development Delay and Moderate to Severe Learning Disabilities). The school serves around 320 pupils aged 7–19 and is located on the Rowley Learning Campus. The school offers a comprehensive CPD programme and holds Investors in People Platinum Award. The role is for an SEN Teacher to join the school in a dynamic, well-resourced environment with supportive colleagues and a collaborative culture focused on innovative curriculum development and high educational outcomes.
We are seeking a passionate educator who can connect with pupils with diverse and complex needs and contribute to the school’s vision and ongoing development. The school provides a safe, supportive environment where staff and pupils are encouraged to achieve their full potential.
Responsibilities
* Design and deliver engaging lessons daily using creative and innovative teaching strategies to stimulate curiosity and enthusiasm in the classroom.
* Monitor and assess students’ progress, supporting their personal development and wellbeing alongside educational achievement.
* Work within a well-resourced environment with expert colleagues to implement the school’s curriculum and practices.
* Contribute to safeguarding and promote the welfare of vulnerable groups in line with school policy.
Qualifications and Requirements
* Qualified teacher with the ability to teach students with special educational needs.
* Ability to work with pupils who have diverse and complex needs and to adapt teaching approaches accordingly.
* Commitment to safeguarding and to promoting the welfare of children, including enhanced DBS clearance.
* Fluency in spoken English is an essential requirement for this role as part of immigration and safeguarding considerations.

Additional information
The successful candidate will be employed by SIPS Education Ltd. The post is exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 and requires an enhanced DBS check (including a Children’s Barred List). An online search of shortlisted candidates may be undertaken as part of the process. Working hours are Full or Part Time.
