Role Overview The Site Stores Assistant supports the day-to-day running of the stores function within a waste recovery facility. The role involves receiving, storing, issuing and monitoring stock, ensuring that materials, spare parts and equipment are readily available to support maintenance and operational activities. The postholder will contribute to maintaining accurate inventory records and ensuring compliance with health, safety and environmental standards. Key Responsibilities Receive, check and book in deliveries against purchase orders and delivery notes Inspect goods for damage, accuracy and quality, reporting any discrepancies Store items in an organised and safe manner, ensuring correct labelling and stock location Issue parts, tools and consumables to engineering and operations teams as required Update inventory records using stock control systems (e.g. Pirana, SAP, Maximo or similar) Carry out regular stock checks and support periodic stocktakes Maintain appropriate stock levels and notify supervisors of shortages or reordering requirements Handle and store hazardous materials in accordance with COSHH regulations and site procedures Prepare and stage materials for planned maintenance activities and outages Maintain a clean, tidy and compliant stores environment in line with HSE and Site standards Support continuous improvement initiatives within the stores and logistics function Skills and Experience GCSEs (or equivalent) including English and Maths Previous experience in a stores, warehouse or inventory role, ideally within an industrial, engineering or energy environment Familiarity with stock control or inventory management systems Basic knowledge of mechanical and electrical components (desirable) Good IT skills, including use of standard office software Strong attention to detail and organisational ability Good communication and teamwork skills Additional Requirements Forklift truck licence (desirable) Ability to undertake manual handling tasks safely Willingness to work shifts if required Understanding of health and safety legislation relevant to industrial workplaces Benefits – A Entry into Company bonus scheme - up to 5% Thalia’s pension contribution is 3% and your contribution is 5% 24 days annual leave Annual opportunity to buy additional annual leave (up to 5 days) Life assurance: 2 x annual salary Flexible benefits: Access to a wide range of flexible benefits through Bravo Benefits, allowing you to tailor your package to suit your individual needs, including health, wellbeing, and lifestyle options.
