Job Purpose
Reporting to an Engineering Team Leader, this role is part of a multi-skilled PPM team, responsible for carrying out planned maintenance and supporting site breakdowns as directed. The position requires a 12‑hour day shift (blocks of 2s & 3s) and a structured work pattern of 48 hours per week.
Dimensions
* 12‑hour day shift, 48 hours per week.
* Planned Maintenance Program (PPM) and intervention completion.
* Front‑line engineering support when required.
* Support of site and group projects and initiatives.
Site Equipment Includes
* TetraPak ingredients processing centre.
* Eight PET blow‑and‑fill production lines capable of producing over 100,000 units per hour, using predominantly TetraPak, Krones, and Sidel processing equipment, plus associated packaging machines such as Acme, Heuft, Sacmi, Stork, Come, Kister, KHS, and Holoila.
* Multiple palletising and conveying systems.
Principle Accountabilities
* Ensure all work is performed in accordance with health, safety, environmental, food hygiene and quality requirements.
* Respond promptly to breakdowns to minimise downtime and costs.
* Implement identified modifications and improvements.
* Support planned preventative maintenance schemes.
* Complete maintenance schedules and engage in operational improvements.
* Drive continuous improvement projects by challenging existing practices and recommending improvements.
* Communicate with relevant departments on breakdown and maintenance progress.
* Report accurately and maintain engineering CMMS records.
* Monitor equipment efficiency and proactively address problem areas.
* Maintain accurate records of engineering spares store usage.
* Maintain work areas to the required 5S standards.
* Record and communicate any adjustments to production equipment.
* Be fully competent in a wide range of machine and equipment operating and cleaning procedures.
* Review daily achievement of targets and report variances.
* Conduct effective handovers by communicating key information.
* Perform additional tasks, projects, trials and reasonable duties in collaboration with colleagues.
All activities must support product food safety, legality, integrity, authenticity and quality standards by ensuring adherence to all associated policies and procedures.
Role Requirements
* Completed recognised and relevant engineering apprenticeship, preferably multi‑skilled.
* Experience in FMCG manufacturing environments.
* PC‑literate; experienced with CMMS, preferably SAP.
* Worked within a regulated environment using Permit‑to‑Work systems and dynamic risk assessments.
* Proficient in problem‑solving techniques such as fault‑finding and root cause analysis, closing actions to a permanent fix.
* Ability to read and understand technical manuals and engineering drawings.
* Advanced diagnostic skills across mechanical, electrical, PLC and process domains.
