Instrument / Electrical Maintenance Technician
Location: Clitheroe
Contract: 12-month fixed-term contract
Pay Rate: £24 per hour
Overview
We are seeking an experienced Instrument / Electrical Maintenance Technician to join a leading chemical manufacturing company at their Clitheroe site. This role is part of an established, multi-disciplinary Maintenance Team supporting several key production plants.
You will play a critical role in maintaining safe, reliable, and efficient plant operations through both reactive maintenance and planned preventative maintenance activities. The site is a large, complex industrial environment with significant ongoing investment, offering varied technical challenges and strong development opportunities.
Key Responsibilities
* Respond to plant breakdowns, diagnosing and rectifying instrumentation and electrical faults.
* Accurately record all maintenance activities in the CMMS, ensuring timely and detailed updates.
* Support the Maintenance Team Leader in delivering a compliant and effective maintenance function.
* Carry out routine preventative maintenance, including testing of safety-critical instrumentation.
* Contribute to reliability improvement initiatives, including FMEA and Root Cause Analysis.
* Support site performance targets relating to EHS, Quality, and Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE).
Requirements
* Completed a recognised Instrumentation or Electrical Maintenance apprenticeship with NVQ Level 3 (or equivalent).
* Strong knowledge of health and safety practices within chemical or industrial environments.
* Experience working with Permit to Work systems and Lock Out Tag Out (LOTO) procedures.
* Background working on process plants, ideally within chemical, oil & gas, or heavy manufacturing sectors.
* Competent user of CMMS systems, such as SAP PM.
