Pensions Payroll Administrator

Location: Royal Mail, Pond Street, Sheffield, S98 6HR. This role requires you to attend our Sheffield office 3 days each week.

We’re looking for a talented Payroll Administrator to help ensure our award-winning Pensions Service Centre delivers outstanding service to our members. There’s never been a better time to join us.
About The Role
You will deliver the payroll service to pensioner members of the Royal Mail Collective Pension Plan, ensuring compliance with legislative requirements, Trustee contracts, and contractual service levels.
Your responsibilities include:
1. Processing, reconciliation, and payment of monthly Pensioner Payroll and daily lump sums.
2. Calculating Ad Hoc payments, including suspended Pensions.
3. Handling member queries and liaising with third parties, such as HMRC.
4. Delivering the product to agreed service and quality standards, in accordance with Plan rules and service specifications.
5. Participating in continuous improvement activities following PASA Gold Standard.
6. Developing effective working relationships with customers, stakeholders, and colleagues to provide excellent service.
About You
Qualifications and experience include:
* Educated to at least A level standard with strong English and Mathematics GCSEs (grades C to A*).
* Desirable: CIPP qualification or working towards it.
* At least 2 years’ experience in payroll, preferably on a large payroll.
* Experience with pensioner payroll is desirable but not essential.
* Strong planning, organisational, and problem-solving skills.
