Join to apply for the Support Worker role at Hollybank Trust

Role: Support Worker

Location: Mirfield, WF14 0DQ

Salary: £12.31/hr

Hours: 22.5 - 37.5hrs per week (including alternate weekend working)

Unfortunately we are not able to offer sponsorship to work in the UK, and we do ask that you have 6 months of UK based work experience (in any sector) before applying.

Our teams in Holly Court, Willow Court, Poplars, Beeches and Conkers work closely with our on-site therapists, enrichment service, and our clinical staff to enable them to provide quality of life, for life for adults with profound and multiple disabilities and complex needs.

At Hollybank we are lucky to be able to provide our colleagues with exposure to specialist areas such as nursing care at Willow Court, and positive behaviour support at The Poplars, but all of our residential services are supportive, welcoming, and exciting places to work. To find out more about our individual services, please visit our website HERE.

To meet the needs of our adults, our Support Worker teams work a variety of shift patterns and hours, however we do ask that you are able to work from 7am or until 9:30pm at night depending on your weekly rota. Rotas are issued in advance, and your 4-week rota will follow a pattern, so you can always plan ahead for your days off. Shifts are typically 7.5hrs to 12.5hrs in length, including weekends.

Day to day role of a Support Worker:

Your days at Hollybank will be as varied as the people we support, however your typical day to day role will include:

* Supporting with meals and drinks, and to help them to get excited about being involved in cooking and baking!
* Helping with their personal care, including bathing and showering, so they look and feel great.
* Engaging in meaningful activities both at home and out in the community - whether that's the cinema, bowling, or absailing.
* Building a relationship with the adults and their families, so that you can provide truly person-centred, individualised care.
* Supporting adults to access our on-site Hydrotherapy pool (don't worry, you don't need to be a strong swimmer!) and Rebound trampoline - guided by qualified Physiotherapists and Lifeguard trained staff.

Experience is welcome, but not essential, as all training will be given. You do not need to be a driver to apply for this role.

Our staff benefits:

* A competitive salary and great pension scheme.
* An employee rewards scheme with retail discounts, cashback offers and much more.
* A comprehensive employee assistance program, including support for your mental health, subsidised wellbeing activities, a company sick pay scheme, and a life insurance style benefit.
* A fantastic, open, and supportive working environment.
* Training & Development opportunities, tailored to support your career aspirations.
* A wealth of opportunities to gain experience in a variety of skills.
* Quarterly coffee mornings to celebrate what we do.
* Subsidised on site cafe with hot and cold meals, snacks and drinks.
* Free on site parking and great transport links for public transport users.

What we look for from our staff:

* Confidence - Trying new things, suggesting new ideas, and challenging poor practice if you see it.
* Curiosity - Not being afraid to ask questions, being a team player, being driven to learn and develop.
* Happiness - Being a reliable and positive person, being outgoing and vibrant, and enjoying the work you do.
* Kindness - Focusing on ability, not disability. Supporting your colleagues, and being inclusive and caring.
