You will be enrolled onto a healthcare support worker induction programme held each month, ensuring you feel supported as you take the first steps into your new career.

Education
Essential criteria
1. GCSE Grade C English Language or equivalent
2. Secondary education
Desirable criteria
3. Relevant qualifications or trust care certificate
Special circumstances
Essential criteria
4. Ability to work flexibly, across both sites.
5. Willingness to support other areas of the service as the need arises
Experience
Essential criteria
6. 1-2 years’ experience of working in a health care setting
7. Experience of teaching both individuals and groups
Desirable criteria
8. Previous experience of working within a Ward/Community setting
9. Previous experience of working in a team
Skills, ability and knowledge
Essential criteria
10. Patient confidentiality
11. Good communication skills both verbally and written to enable liaison with multi-disciplinary team
12. Demonstrate ability to organise own workload, prioritise and take initiative where necessary
13. Logical approach to work, thorough and accurate
14. Be flexible and work as part of a team
15. Ability to communicate clearly verbally; open, pleasant, and confident manner
16. Computer literacy eg can use email, write documents, use internet
Desirable criteria
17. Knowledge of NHS Trust and use of Medway system would be desirable
18. Knowledge of Data Protection Act

PPE requirements: Buckinghamshire Healthcare NHS Trust requires all colleagues to wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) in accordance with our infection prevention and control procedures.
