We’re looking for a curious, rigorous, problem‑hungry platform engineer (who codes!) to bring Ashby to the big leagues. Ashby builds software that lets talent teams build an efficient, delightful, respectful hiring process.
We have notable customers such as Notion, Linear, Shopify, and Snowflake. Ashby has tens of millions in ARR, is growing over 100% year over year, and serves more than 2,500 customers with very low churn.
Responsibilities
* Optimize our homegrown ultra‑dynamic recruiting DSL‑to‑SQL compiler and create tools to help developers use it.
* Create automated guardrails for the security and privacy of our customer data.
* Help developers ship features fast through canary deploys, gradual rollouts, feature flags, while keeping complexity manageable and reducing downtime.
* Work with the business and engineering team to define SLOs and implement the corresponding SLIs.
* Ensure all communication with external services supports retries and circuit‑breakers.
* Implement the infrastructure to support an event‑driven architecture and data warehouse.
Qualifications
* Obsession with problems that don’t make sense at first, and a willingness to dig deep for solutions.
* Commitment to writing clean, future‑proof code and speaking up for edge cases.
* Interest in teamwork and collaboration; ability to contribute to a small, high‑impact team.
* Experience building or maintaining infrastructure that handles millions of data points, including provisioning, monitoring, and release processes.
* Versatility across tools and technologies (containerization, CI/CD, Kubernetes, monitoring, monitoring, scripting). Shiny new knowledge will be encouraged.
