About the Role
As a Senior Information Governance Officer, you will:
8. Act as the lead officer for complex and high-risk cases under Data Protection, FOI, and EIR legislation.
9. Provide specialist advice, guidance, and training across the Council.
10. Manage complex and or contentious Subject Access Requests, Police disclosures, and Information Sharing Agreements.
11. Investigate information security incidents and ensure compliance with UK GDPR.
12. Support services with Data Protection Impact Assessments and Information Asset Mapping.
13. Mentor and quality-assure junior team members, contributing to their development.
14. Influence policy and contribute to strategic objectives for information governance.
What We’re Looking For
15. In-depth knowledge of Data Protection, FOI, EIR, and UK GDPR.
16. Experience managing complex caseloads and advising on compliance.
17. Strong communication skills to engage with senior officers, partners, and the public.
18. Ability to deliver training and influence best practice.
19. Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail.
20. A collaborative team player with leadership qualities.
