Milford House Care Home are looking for a kitchen assistant to join our fantastic, hard-working team. As our kitchen assistant, you'll help to provide the food and hospitality that enable us to give our residents exceptional all-round care.
Milford House offers exceptional care within a beautiful grade II listed Georgian manor house close to Duffield and Belper.
What we are looking for in a Kitchen Assistant:
· You may have some experience in working in a similar role, but it is not essential
· Someone who will help produce nutritious meals and create a fulfilling dining experience for our residents
· You will be compassionate and respectful and able to build relationships with colleagues and the residents we care for
Details of this Kitchen Assistant position and what the home is offering:
· Shifts are over a 7 day rota including some weekends, so flexibility would be required
· 24 Hour Contract, working a combination of morning and afternoon shifts (either 7.30am-1.30pm or 2.30pm-7pm)
· £12.79 per hour

Purpose Of Position
· To support the Cook in the effective operation of the Kitchen
· To maintain a high standard of cleanliness in all kitchen areas
Responsibilities
· To assist with preparation of vegetables in a hygienic manner
· To be involved in the serving of breakfasts
· To dispose of waste correctly
· To assist the cook with the serving of food
· To adhere to the high standard cleaning schedule set by the management
· To prepare and set dining tables ready for meals
· To remove soiled crockery from tables, rinse and place them in dishwasher
· To return sterilised crockery and cutlery to their correct storage place at the end of the shift
· To sweep and mop kitchen floor at the end of the shift
· To take part in staff meetings
· To undergo further training or updating as required
