Contracts Coordinator
Location: West Thurrock, Grays
Contract: Permanent, Full Time
We’re looking for a Contracts Coordinator to join our Eurovia Surfacing team in our brand-new Innovation Centre in Grays. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys working with suppliers, supporting operational teams, and keeping things running smoothly behind the scenes.
This is a key role within our business, acting as the central link between our operational teams, supply chain and senior managers to ensure materials and services are ordered, tracked and delivered exactly when they’re needed.
About the Role
As a Contracts Coordinator, you’ll manage the end‑to‑end purchasing process for materials and services, ensuring the right information is captured, orders are compliant, and suppliers deliver on time. You’ll work closely with our operational teams to understand their requirements, coordinate with suppliers and use SAP and Excel to analyse procurement data.
Every day is different in this role. You’ll be converting requisitions to purchase orders, resolving queries, chasing suppliers, monitoring live asphalt deliveries, analysing waiting time or on‑time delivery performance, managing complaints when delays occur, and supporting supply chain performance reviews. This is a varied role for someone who thrives on multitasking and problem solving.
Key Responsibilities
* Convert requisitions into accurate purchase orders and progress them through a two‑stage approval workflow.
* Liaise with requisitioners to clarify requirements and ensure compliance before orders are raised.
* Coordinate with suppliers - particularly asphalt and materials providers—to ensure deliveries meet exact programmed timings.
* Resolve issues relating to delayed or incorrect deliveries, working with suppliers and site teams to find solutions.
* Extract SAP data and create procurement reports for management, analysing compliance, waiting times, and performance metrics.
* Log and manage supplier complaints through to resolution.
* Support supply chain performance reviews and wider team improvements.
* Act as a key point of contact for operational teams and suppliers across the business.
What We’re Looking For
We’re looking for someone with a great attitude - resilient, organised and able to adapt to change. You will often be the first point of contact for site teams working under time pressure, so strong communication and problem‑solving skills are essential.
The ideal candidate will bring:
* Experience in purchasing, procurement or administration
* Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail
* Strong communication and relationship‑building skills
* Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including intermediate Excel
* Experience with SAP or another ERP system (transferable skills welcome)
* Ability to work independently and manage your own workload
* Resilience when dealing with challenging conversations or tight deadlines
* A full driving licence (due to office location and occasional travel)
* Experience from any industry will be considered as full training will be provided.
