We’re Hiring: Planning Lawyer (CPO Specialist) – Principal Associate to Partner

Salary: £70,000-90,000k, dependent on experience
We are working in partnership with a leading national law firm to recruit an experienced Planning Lawyer with particular expertise in compulsory purchase matters. This is an exciting opportunity to join a top-tier planning team with a strong reputation for high-quality work across both the private and public sectors.
The team is collaborative and well-established, with a broad client base that includes major developers, local authorities, and landowners. Due to a significant pipeline of upcoming work, they are looking to appoint a senior lawyer at Principal Associate or Partner level.
What you will be doing
* Advising on compulsory purchase orders for both landowners and local authorities
* Acting on strategic residential and New Town projects
* Advising on planning due diligence for land acquisitions and real estate finance
* Drafting and negotiating planning and highway agreements
* Delivering day to day planning advice to housebuilders, promoters, public bodies and landowners
* Supporting wider team and business development initiatives across the national Planning group
What we are looking for
* Qualified solicitor with 5 or more years’ post-qualification experience in planning law
* Demonstrable experience advising on compulsory purchase matters
* Strong technical skills and commercial awareness
* Excellent communication and drafting ability
* Well-organised with the ability to manage complex workloads
* A collaborative team player, with the confidence to lead and mentor where appropriate
