About the role

Join us as our Procurement Process and Systems Lead and help us redefine excellence across our Supply Chain & Commercial directorate.
This is more than a process role, it's a chance to lead continuous improvement projects that elevate our Procurement capability and enhance the experience for business users across the organisation.
You'll be at the heart of driving change, collaborating with cross-functional teams, and embedding procurement excellence in everything we do. Your work will underpin best practice, ensure regulatory compliance, and support our journey towards sustainable, value-driven procurement.
What you'll be doing
* Delivering Impact: Lead a portfolio of improvement projects to boost Procurement capability and keep us ahead of market changes.
* Championing Innovation: Engage with the external market to bring in fresh ideas, trends, and best practices, embedding them within our team.
* Optimising Systems: Identify and implement new tools and templates that simplify processes and drive adoption.
* Building Capability: Design and roll out learning solutions through our Procurement Academy to develop team expertise.
* Ensuring Compliance: Make sure our systems and processes meet all standards and mitigate risks in data integrity and supplier management such as UCR2016 and PA23,
* Benchmarking Excellence: Support external benchmarking and transformation programs to enhance our maturity and capabilities.
* Driving Change: Partner with stakeholders to align policies, procedures, and change projects across the business.
* Supporting ESG Goals: Contribute to sustainable procurement practices that support our environmental, social, and governance objectives.
* Leveraging Analytics: Use advanced analytics to provide insights into spend, supplier performance, and market trends.
* Leading Transformation: This role has 2 direct reports and together you'll closely with leadership to drive change management and process enhancements.
Key requirements and experience
Essential:
* Significant experience in direct and indirect procurement.
* Strong background in sourcing, category management, and process optimisation.
* Deep knowledge of procurement processes, contract law, and supplier compliance, particularly around UCR2016 and PA23.
* Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.
* Experience with procurement tools, system implementation, and risk management (Ariba and Coupa are advantageous but other experience is welcome).
Desirable:
* Professional qualification under CIPS
* Proven track record of developing best practices and leading procurement transformation.
* Ability to navigate ambiguity and complexity.
* Experience implementing sourcing and procurement standards in global organisations.
* Strategic vision with hands-on operational capability.
* Experience managing external consultants.
